Where is Wessex‽
We're often asked, where is Wessex, it's Southampton right?" so we thought we'd take a moment to explain.
Wessex, or "kingdom of the West Saxons" was an Anglo-Saxon kingdom in the south of Great Britain, from 519 until England was unified in the early 10th century. As our players come from across the central South Coast area, from Bournemouth to Portsmouth and as far north as Guildford and Basingstoke it seemed like the only choice of name which represented our catchment area.
It's a great area to live, with vibrant cities, stunning coastline and beautiful countryside. Why not take in some of what the area has to offer while you are here?
